By explicitly importing the legacy namespace classes, we make it clear
that we are using soon-to-be-deprecated classes. We will then be able to
start removing the legacy classes, one module at a time.
The previous attempt to implement this was bugged because it was not respecting manual exceptions to content type gating. This is fixed by checking has_access for each child problem of the sequence.
REV-1510
Re-applied bugfix #24214, but behind a waffle flag. The change gates timed exams for audit learners. We would like to limit access to timed exams to verified learners. However, some of the instructors would like to make their content free for all users, including graded content/timed exams (hence the Feature-Based Enrollment "FBE" exemption). As a result, we will be rolling the gated timed exams functionality out behind a waffle flag now, add the FBE exemption when we figure out how, and gradually turn the waffle flag on for everyone.
Due dates will only display for graded subsections.
If the assignment has already been completed, there will be a pill
to indicate that. If the assignment is past due, there will be a
pill. If it is upcoming, there are no pills
Right now the units of a public course are hidden if there is at least a graded activity in them. This is done due to a change(69eeca61d8) that was done before the implementation of public_view mechanism for unenrolled users.
Since we use public_view now and by default it restricts the unit rendering for anonymous users we do not need to limit the access at this way for anonymous users.
Improves navigation within Studio for Learning Sequences, speeding up authors who want to see how a learner progresses through content without needing to jump over to the LMS.
This adds a dropdown section navigator to the breadcrumbs on the unit page and copies the sequence navigator from LMS to the studio unit page.
This is based on PR #19284 and is part of the
series of work related to the proposal #18134.
Adds VideoModule.public_view() to enable
unenrolled and anonymous users to view the video
contents of a public course.
When an unenrolled or anonymous user accesses the
video content of a public course, the
public_view() introduced in the previous PR is
used instead of student_view() method.
The course_visiblity field can have one of three values:
1. private (default): This keeps the standard access rules.
2. public_outline: Allows unenrolled and anonymous users access to the outline.
3. public: Allows unenrolled and anonymous users access to both outline and
course content.
When an unenrolled user accesses course content, instead of student_view(),
public_view() is used. A default implementation is provided for XBlocks
which do not implement this view. The public_view() must not have any
functionality which assumes the presence of a valid User and should show
a readonly only interface for the XBlock content.

This reworks what was done #17930, since it had to be reverted from the IDVerificationAggregate migration.
We decided to abandon that model and directly read from both id verification models.
This partially reverts commit ee1c3a4548.
The migration files introduced by the commit have been kept since they have been run
already on several enviornments.
This basically commits the transpiled CoffeeScript JS (with minor
cleanup) and removes coffee build support.
A tiny amount of support for xblocks exists, because external users
may have xblocks with coffee. But no coffee in our tree anyway.
* Vertical marks blocks completed when viewed.
* Functionality is hidden behind a waffle switch
* Submissions from front-end are limited to known-incomplete blocks
* Upgrades xblock to version 1.1.1
* Related future requirements listed in TODO tagged with EDUCATOR-1778
and relevant opencraft OC-* ticket IDs.
